ABOUT ABOUT

Other Orbits is a wild serial science-fiction epic unfolding in nine episodes over the course of two years. Each episode takes a different form, and together they tell the story of a motley crew of creatures, machines, plants and immortal beings navigating great change and upheaval on a planet far far away.

This subscription of Other Orbits offers:

Episode 4: Quest to the Decomp, a table top game (release date Febuary 18, 2022)

Episode 5: A New Album from Mushroom Superstar Shawn Trex and their special PlaNet friends (Spring 2022)

Episode 6: Real Planet Life -  a short film/reality TV episode (Summer 2022)

Meet the citizens of the distant PlaNet, go on a voyage underground, attend a family reunion, and listen grooves so sick they tear a hole in the space time continuum. Some episodes have a limited number of tickets available, so secure your spot today. Hop on the Orbit!

Subscriptions are offered on a sliding scale to promote access and affordability. The ticket website will present you with three possible ticket prices, and you can pick what price you will pay for the episode. Higher ticket prices go towards subsidizing the lower ticket prices, so we thank you in advance for considering supporting access to the show!

Anyone across the USA can buy a subscription.

Applied Mechanics is a visionary, multiracial collective of queer and genderqueer theater artists. Our plays tell stories of radical transformation. We reimagine history in order to envision a more just future -- the most urgent work of this generation. We are calling a new society into being. The society we want is collaborative and non-hierarchical. It is unapologetically pro-Black, pro-Indigenous, ecofeminist and anti-capitalist. The way we make art is inextricable from the art we make. Our work empowers artists and enkindles community with audiences. We want our collaborators – artists and audiences alike – to leave our performances inspired towards agency, connection, wild imagination, mutual aid, and the joyful work of building new futures.
